Drunk and happy

As long as we stay on top of Jack's pain med's, he remains generally happy- and laughs at stupid things. Like Josh, brushing his teeth. Or snow falling outside our window. (That's right- it's snowing.)

The Doc's usually have made their rounds by this time but haven't yet today. I'm hoping to hear them say "Ok, you guys can pack up and go home!" It all depends on his bloodwork, and x-ray, and how they think he is doing. He is crawling all over his bed, with 5 cords attached to him. He is managing just fine.

It's crazy to think that this time a week ago, this whole thing was just getting started and they were barely cutting into him. Now- he has higher O2 levels (even without the supplement O2) he is acting like himself, he is moving around as though his chest weren't just sawed open and wired shut...

It's amazing. Little kid bodies are incredible.

Everyone at the hospital has been outstanding and as weird as it is, it's sad that we'll never be back in the PICU with those wonderful nurses that I trust my child with. Best (and most expensive) babysitters ever.

Hopefully the next post will be about us going home. We'll see.

We were in the P.I.C.U. yesterday before my heart cath and were happy to learn of Jack's progress. What a true blessing! Our prayers are with his speedy recovery and playful future...
